North Pole, AK

The small city of North Pole, Alaska, is part of the Fairbanks metropolitan area, located southeast of the city along the Richardson Highway next to the Tanana River. North Pole covers just over four square miles of land in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, home to a population of about 2,200 people.

Incorporated in 1953, North Pole has adopted the motto, “Where the Spirit of Christmas Lives Year Round!” Once home to two oil refineries, the city today is a summertime tourist attraction. North Pole boasts a gift shop named Santa Claus House, including the world’s largest fiberglass statue of Santa Claus. Despite its name, the city sits about 1,700 miles south of the earth’s real North Pole.

OUR CLIENTS’ TESTIMONIALS

Dawn Jaussi Montano

“What a breath of fresh air! After getting the run around at another garage and nothing was fixed, I cannot say enough good things about Metropolitan Garage! They were prompt, fixed the problem (on the first trip), and were very professional. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and such a pleasure to work with. I will never take my vehicle to anyone else!”
